SIGNED JERSEYS BY INDIVIDUALS PROVING POPULAR

We’ve had a number of enquiries where we’ve been asked to source jerseys signed by individual players. As you know we specialise in team jerseys, although we also stock the major players such as Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar, generally recognised as the current three best players, plus some past greats like Pele, Zidane and Maradona. However the range of players requested has amazed us. It has varied from World Cup legends like Johan Cruyff and Franz Beckenbauer to club heroes like Stan Bowles (QPR) and Matt le Tissier (Southhampton). Another one in demand has been the hat trick hero from the 1966 World Cup, England’s Geoff Hurst.

So what is it that makes us devout fans of a particular player? It’s not just the goal scorers or skilful players, as tough Italian defenders like Baressi and Maldini also have their supporters. Often it’s their longevity and consistent performances that resonate with us. Many of the popular figures are seen as one club men, devoted to helping their team be successful.

Cruyff and Beckenbauer were revolutionary, changing the style of play of their teams, which played a part in their success. Others are exciting (Bowles and le Tissier) whilst goals play a big part (Malcolm Macdonald at Newcastle, or Wayne Rooney at Man United ). Whilst some like Roy Keane (Manchester United) and Patrick Viera (Arsenal) were considered hard men which the fans could relate to, other tough tacklers grew in prominence thanks to their efforts with the national team, like Daniele de Rossi (Italy).

So legends come in all positions, with varying skill sets. They’re someone who has inspired us, thrilled us and performed at a consistent level. Their impact on the international scene may vary, but their impact on our hearts  never leaves. If there is someone special whose signed jersey belongs on display on your wall in tribute to the joy they have brought you, just let us know and we’ll do our best.
